Whistler, sede congiunta delle Olimpiadi Invernali del 2010, è solo a due ore da Vancouver sulla bellissima autostrada Sea-to-Sky Highway e uno delle più grandi e migliori stazioni sciistiche in Nord America. Tuttavia, il luogo resta popolare anche in estate con una vasta gamma di attività all'aperto.

Inizia la giornata con partenza da Vancouver alle 08:15. Viaggia lungo la Highway 99, nota anche come la suggestiva Sea-to-Sky Highway, e fai una sosta presso la splendida cascata di Shannon durante il tragitto verso Whistler. Una volta a destinazione, goditi un tour guidato della popolare cittadina in stile chalet.

Dopo un tour guidato, goditi l'impianto di risalita Peak 2 Peak, che collega il Roundhouse Lodge sulla Whistler Mountain con il Rendezvous Restaurant sulla Blackcomb Mountain, o esci a fare un'escursione e goditi l'incredibile vista dalla cima della montagna (a un costo aggiuntivo). Beautiful drive up to Whistler. You will want to sit on the driver's side of the bus going up so you can get a good view of the water and the islands. Lots of places to eat and shop in Whistler. You will want to do an activity up there. We did the Peak to Peak Gondola ride. It was lightly raining in Whistler, but it was snowing at the peaks. It was beautiful. We went from Whistler peak to Blackcomb peak. Went into the restaurant and got a hot chocolate. They put it in ceramic mugs and it really warms your hands. I would highly recommend the Peak to Peak. You can book your activities on the bus ride up.

Whistler is a lovely place that I would highly recommend visiting. Tour guides were very nice, but it should be said that you're really just paying for the ride to and from the mountain. It's very much free time to yourself once you get there, which I personally enjoyed, but you may well be able to get a cheaper bus shuttle to and from Whistler and have the same experience.

I recommend this all day tour. The coach was spacious and big. Stopped off at Shannon waterfall to stretch and smell the nature air. Once we arrived at Whistler we were given recommendations of places to eat, drink, shop. Definitely would love to come back for a weekend trip.

It was a bit of a drive but the breathtaking views were more than i had hoped for. I would suggest getting the tickets for things like the gondola ride and other Whistler activities through your tour guide. It may be a little more expensive via the guide but it saves you waiting on long lines. If you get them in advance online, you'll probably just get a voucher and still have to wait on line to get the actual tickets.
