We were picked up in a sedan that smelled like smoke and were driven to the facility by a non-English speaking driver. Once we arrived we were given wet and dirty helmets and given about 30 seconds of instruction before mounting the horse and going on the walk. The “guide” barely spoke any English and did not say anything to us while we were in the walk. She literally did not point anything out but was on her phone the entire time. When we returned from the ride, we were given no instructions. After waiting around for 15 minutes we asked what we were supposed to do and were told we had to wait for the driver and other workers to “finish some work” before leaving. Terrible service, no information learned at all, not worth more than $5

Unfortunately it was cold, overcast and damp the day (early May) we rode through the Tuscan countryside. We were picked up at the Piazza Gramsci in Siena. Our driver was several minutes late. It was approximately a 20-25 minute drive to the riding center. Our group of three had two experienced riders and one beginner. We all felt comfortable riding the well-mannered horses. Our guide did not speak English so we had little interaction with him. It would have been nice to have had a guide who could have shared the wine culture and history of the area with us. He did point out Monteriggioni and San Gimignano off in the distance. The countryside was beautiful to explore despite the challenging weather and language barrier. Overall it was a good experience. We only wish that the weather was better and that our guide spoke English.

Not sure where to begin. Sadly, my wife and I did not have the same experience as all the previous reviews. Perhaps different stables are used. In full disclosure, this was my first experience riding horses. No previous skill. So I had no presumptions of it being a perfectly smooth ride. But when the description stated that all levels of skill would be welcome, I had no concerns. I expected some introduction on how to ride and control the horse, but that never happened. Simply, here's your helmet and off you go...and did we ever. We did not travel down a path as shown in the tour picture, but instead began by going up a steep climb. Eventually, we turned into the woods down a very narrow path that had been washed out from recent heavy rains. The trail was so deep in mud that the horses found it slippery. It made them skittish and unstable. Mine eventually slipped and fell down. I was thrown from the horse, but somehow I walked away with just scrapes and bruises....nothing serious. The guest behind me said he couldn't believe I wasn't seriously injured. Fortunately, the horse was ok as well. One other guest was thrown from her horse too. After getting back to my feet, wiping off the mud, and eventually finding my horse, I was able to climb back up and continue the journey through the muddy trail. After a nervous 25 minutes, we returned to the stables. I was so glad to be back on my feet and heading home in one piece. Some other issues we had with the tour... 1. No responses to the two messages I sent prior to the tour asking for clarification as to the tour location. We were staying in Poggibonsi, not Siena. When we never head back, we decided to drive to the meeting point in Siena 40 km away. It turned out that the stables were only 7 km away Poggibonsi. Very frustrating. 2. Despite being listed as an English speaking tour, no one did. Not the driver, not the stable hands who helped us onto our horses, and not the tour guide. 3. Except for the other guests, no one bothered to ask if I was ok after falling. No one from the tour checked on me immediately after falling or upon returning to the stables. 4. Was so busy trying to control the horse that I never got to see the Tuscan Hills Would give 0 stars if possible. Would NOT recommend.

Though the horseback ride was livelier than the slow plod I had been expecting, the scenery was unbelievable. A lovely ride through vineyards, forests, olive groves and fields with gorgeous views across miles of greenery to the distant towers of San Gemignano, Montereggioni, Chianti, completely unobstructed by roads, power lines, cars, railroads, etc. The guide, Marco, was pleasant, calming and reassuring.

We had high expectations of this tour, and they were exceeded! We had a wonderful ride through the Tuscan hills, guided by Francesco and accompanied by his assistant and Aki the dog, who sniffed out pheasants and led the way for our little group. We rode at a leisurely pace through all sorts of terrain, each with its own distinctive beauty. We were collected from our hotel in central Siena and dropped off there following our ride and handled warmly, kindly and professionally all the way. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and highly recommendable.

I expected a bit more of actual explanation about the region, the area, etc... But it was just a horse back riding walk through the fields around an Equestrian Club. Nevertheless, it was a nice experience.

This was nice to ride in the Tuscan Hills, the views were beautiful. All you did was walk on the horse, great for people who don't ride much.
