The Italian guide was wonderful - very knowledgeable and a such a happy Roma citizen. We enjoyed the tour very much. Note: this is a walking tour of 3.5 hours with steps in the Colleseum... and gracefully climb up Palatine Hill. Do not take if you have health issues with walking, or have infants in carriages. Not good for your experience or for others.

Wonderful tour. Laura was great - informative organised and very funny. She made the tour and informed us early of what we were going to see so made it easier to understand when we got there.

Amazing tour. Our tour guide Tiffany (Indiana) was the most knowledgeable, charismatic person we have met in Europe. She had a clear answer to everyone's questions. She went above and beyond for us. The art, history, and beauty of Vatican city is impressive.

This tour is a must! Truly an amazing experience! I highly recommend it because when we left the basilica, there were probably a thousand people waiting in line to get in. We had a small group and the guide was very knowledgeable and funny!

The Vatican is the center of so much art and history. We wanted to see it with an expert guide. Our guide is an art historian (Guido Girolami) who met us outside the Vatican museum. He had a one way radio, (we can hear him). He took us through almost every room, giving us a running commentary the entire time. He prepped us for the Sistine Chapel, giving us a card description since no talking or photos were allowed. Thank you for an amazing experience.

The tour was comprehensive in scope, but the crowds were almost unbearable. Not any fault of the tour company, just prime tourist season in Rome.

Great way to see the Vatican and avoid the crush The Skip the line queue was over an hour long when we arrived just after 8am so if you don't like queuing and want to avoid the crush you need faster than skip the line. We got a lot more out of the experience by going with an experienced guide and tour company

Once you walk past the "skip the line" line which was a mile long and then the regular line which was 3 miles long its obvious this is worth every penny. Getting into the grounds early is also key as it still fills up and gets crowded really fast. After that great trip and great experience.

Our guide was excellent and could not have asked for better. He provided us with wonderful background and history, and he tried his best to pull us away from crowds and keep our group together. It was extremely crowded--not sure how much early access made a difference.

Definitely pick the skip the line in early access to the Vatican. Our tour guide Elizabeth was awesome. It was so helpful to have the photographs and to learn the history and get a preview of what you would see before you ever entered the Vatican. Our favorite part was the Basilica. If you’re looking for the perfect package, I highly recommend this one to book

Our guide was experienced and engaging. She navigated a crowded Sistene Chapel and Vatican with great fitness all the while imparting her knowledge and love of the place.

Silvia H., our guide, was great !!! This is the best way to see as much as possible in a very little time. Could be a little more tiring for a little child, a bit crowdy too. Overall, this was a magnificent experience !!!

Very highly recommend! We took a taxi to the Vatican that morning. Our tour guide met us at the specified meeting point, and took us straight inside. There was already a line waiting out at 8am, so I was so happy to jump in front of the them all and go straight in. Our tour guide was Viviana, and she was the best. She was very passionate about the Vatican, and explain everything in detail. I could not have asked for a better person to do the job!! Money well spent! In this tour we saw the Vatican museum, then the Sistine chapel, and ended with St. Peters.

Was a perfect tour. Tour guide was excellent and the timing was great as it did beat the crowds. On a extremely hot day in late June, that was a blessing. Allowed us over 30 minutes in the Sistine Chapel which she had explained panel by panel to us earlier.

Excellent and thorough tour. Stefania was a beyond exceptional tour guide. Extremely knowledgable, engaging, and polite. Her English was very good. There is no problem understanding. She also kept the tour well paced so you do not feel overwhelmed as there was so much to see. I would highly recommend this tour. I am traveling with my 20 year old son and he loved it.

We had a very nice tour guide, and she worked very hard at keeping us all together. Sorry, I wish I could remember her name. She was very informative and interjected a little humor now and then. I can't imagine remembering all the details she gave! She spoke very good English, but both my husband and I had difficulty understanding about half of what she was saying. I think that was due to the headsets we were using more than her English. Even hearing only part of the tour, we still felt it was worthwhile, as there are so many amazing things to see. We did the early access tour because I read some of the reviews, and we had been forewarned of the crowds. I will say though, that there are a lot of Early Access and Skip The Line tours, so at some point about halfway through, you do catch up to the crowds. Not sure how it would've compared to being in a "regular" access tour group, but I would recommend doing the Early Access tour.

We were led by Sara during the tour. She helped our small group of 11 to clear our entrance efficiently (so glad we had the skip-the-line privilege) and offered great narratives during the tour.

The Vatican was extremely busy on the day we toured. It helped having early access tickets; we were able to bypass very long lines. Once inside the tour guide had to verify the age of the children in our group for tickets which took an additional 20 minutes. Once we were on our way the tour was very organized. Our guide was very informative and gave us ample time to view the exhibits without feeling rushed.

This is totally worth the effort - the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s. Our guide was superb - highly knowledgeable and even soulful. Five stars to her. Best tour out there - buy it! You cannot do this solo. But you need to prepare yourself for the crowds - by 10:30 am the place was PACKED solid. If doing it again I would buy the 830 am tour.

Francesca, our guide was excellent. She was upbeat and so knowledgeable. She kept the whole group interested and answered all questions. She delivered all information clearly, concisely and was easy to follow. She explained and gave detailed background on historical facts. It was the best experience. We are so glad we took this tour as the we learned so much and were able to take memorable photos and met other families. A great fit.

When we booked this tour, the description led us to believe we would be entering the Vatican Museum complex with relatively few people who, like us, got there early (i.e., 8am.). Alas, we were one of many groups — perhaps it’s worse later, we don’t know. The guide (from City Tours) was acceptable.

The tour guide Francesca did a great job of navigating us through the crowded Vatican Museum. She was very intelligent and told us many interesting stories. It was third time for me to visit Vatican but I learned many new things.

Original very early access trip was rescheduled by the vendor so we ended up going on a different day at a mid morning time slot. Suggest very early access for this tour as 25,000 people pass through the Vatican on a daily basis and from the looks of the ticket line, most of those 25k people spent most of their day waiting in a ticket line. worth the extra price of admission to skip the line on this site for sure. Tremendous amount of slow walking and trying to stay with the tour guide not always easy as you constantly mingle with the crowds. Of course, a wonderful tourist attraction, but the early bird definitely catches the worm on this one - bite the bullet and get up early and skip the lines with a group tour.

This tour was wonderful. I had been to Rome before and experienced the long lines and crowds at the Vatican. I decided this time around I'd try to avoid that. We entered the Vatican so early that many of the rooms that we entered were empty. We were actually able to stop and take pictures, ask questions and examine the details of what we were seeing. Rafaella was a very knowledge guide and fully fluent in English. She could answer any questions. I was particularly touched by her interaction with a child on the tour, whom she treated with the greatest respect. Overall, great tour!

I really enjoyed the tour! The tour guide, Christian, is very engaging, passionate and knowledgeable. He has a background in art history and was able to speak in depth about the pieces and areas we saw. Christian made the group atmosphere really interactive and fun. You can expect to see the Candelabra Room, The Maps Room, The Tapestry Room, and the Pine cone Courtyard during this tour. You go through all of those areas before you get to the Sistine Chapel and then we closed with St. Peter's. There are so many tours offered that I was unsure if I had picked the right one, but I can say, I feel like I chose the best tour and would recommend it to anyone.

Always a good visit. The only thing that was not good this time was the quality of the audio system used. It went on and off for all of the group members. I expected better from this company regarding that area.

From start to finish our guide Nico "wowed" us with his expertise and guidance as he gave a fabulous tour of the Vatican Museums (did you know it was the second largest museum after the Louvre?), the Chapel and St. Peter's. Be ready to crane your neck in the Chapel. We went early which I hear is better and our day was not very crowded (Monday in mid-December). He provided a few nice opportunities for photos as well. Even with the excellent directions for meeting the tour (we walked), we were confused as to exactly where the steps were so leave yourself plenty of time to arrive.
