Si parte dal hotel a Roma per dirigersi verso i Castelli Romani, spettacolare zona collinare del Lazio famosa per la produzione di vino. Nonostante il nome possa far pensare a una zona ricca di castelli, i Castelli Romani sono in realtà un'area che comprende 13 paesini sui Colli Albani, un incredibile scenario panorama costellato di laghi vulcanici e valli isolate.
Dirigendosi verso il borgo di Monte Porzio Catone si può visitare Santa Benedetta - l'azienda vinicola più antica dei Castelli Romani. Durante il tour della tenuta di campagna, si ascolta la storia della sua trasformazione da antico convento e se ne scopre la tradizione vinicola che la famiglia Benedetti si tramanda da generazioni.
In questo luogo appartato, ci si siede a tavola per iniziare la degustazione, assaggiando i tre vini più importanti di Santa Benedetta: Complexus, Gigi e Tre vecchie. La degustazione di vini è accompagnata da un piatto di prelibatezze locali, tra cui l'olio extravergine di oliva di produzione propria, bruschette (con pane di Lariano, un tipo di pane bianco aromatico e croccante), formaggi e affettati.
Dopo essersi rilassati nella tenuta e aver goduto del buon vino, cibo e ottima compagnia, la guida riporterà i partecipanti in hotel a Roma.

The vineyard was located in an idyllic setting near Frascati. We enjoyed the tour of the vineyards and the discussion about the grapes and harvesting. The wines were quite nice and the olive oil was superb, I thought. I ordered a case of the white wine to be sent back to U.S. The owners were very knowledgeable and gracious; I appreciated that they brought us into a part of their home and told us about their family and their long legacy of wine making on that very estate.

Really enjoyed this experience very much. The driver that picked us up was right on time, and the drive was a good way to see the outside part of Rome. The only negative I would note, is that our guide, who was absolutely wonderful and very informative, he still had to take care of customers and even a couple who came for a small tour. We very much enjoyed the food paring and the wine was very good, but we were left alone more than we should have been. We ended up drinking more wine, but really wish we could have had a bit more attention.

Good tour, nice walk through the vineyard and hearing the story of how it's been in the same family for years. Loved the tasting room...lots of pictures of historical value of the area. The only disappointment was that if you weren't buying wine/olive oil, the owner was kind of dismissive. Overall, nice stop.

Our driver was polite and professional and the guide at the vineyard was pleasant, however we were disappointed overall with this tour. We were driven along the highway and did not see any quaint Italian villages as expected. The wine tasting was interesting but the tour was not worth the expense.

Car service was prompt and comfortable. Winery was beautiful and peaceful. Wine was fantasic and the tour guide was fun and informative. Drive seemed brief and it was nice to chat with the other couple. Walked away happy and jealous I don't live there.

My wife and I had a wonderful visit to the winery !! We were looking for a short trip on our last day in Rome to fill out our schedule and allow us to rest a bit after a full week of walking among ancient ruins and museums and this visit was just what we needed!! Our driver- Virginio- went out of his way to help us address some monetary exchange issues that required us to go into the city and he pointed out and explained several sites enroute that we had not seen . Then the folks at the winery!! All were first class- gave us the history on the location, filled us with knowledge of growing grapes and olives and producing wines and the wine sampling was fantastic and relaxing!! They even helped us prepare the things we bought to pack in our suitcases and you can be certain that when we get home to Texas that we will sample them with our neighbors and place an Email order for some more and maybe even get the recipe for the wonderful pastry they served . Great experience and recommend it to anyone !!
