Tour di Rodi medievale in Segway

Incontro con la guida locale all'orario scelto e sessione di orientamento per acquisire familiarità con il Segway elettrico autobilanciato a due ruote. Una volta a tuo agio, potrai seguire la guida per i vicoli stretti della città medievale, uno dei pochi luoghi sopravvissuti indenni attraverso il medioevo, dichiarata patrimonio mondiale dell'umanità dall'Unesco nel 1988.
Seguendo le nostre guide esperte, il tour porta alla moschea Ibrahim Pasha, la più antica moschea a Rodi ancora funzionante, per poi attraversare Juderia, i quartieri ebraici, e finire alla chiesa cattolica della Vergine del Borgo, la basilica latina più grande dell'isola, un gioiello architettonico caratterizzato dalla fusione di diversi stili e influenze.
La tappa successiva è l'Ospizio di Santa Caterina, per proseguire poi lungo le mura di fortificazione passando per la Porta di San Giovanni (o Porta rossa) e quella di Sant'Atanasio, fino a raggiungere la nostra destinazione seguente: la moschea di Solimano, uno dei più importanti monumenti musulmani oggi esistenti in occidente. Quindi il tour prevede la visita alla Porta d'Amboise, la porta più grandiosa delle fortificazioni medievali, decorata con lo stemma dell'Ordine e del Gran Maestro Amboise, che a tutt'oggi rimane un punto di riferimento della città medievale.
Il tour prosegue con la visita del Palazzo del Gran Maestro, il cuore della difesa della città, che inoltre serviva da residenza per il Gran Maestro e come centro amministrativo. Scendendo per la pittoresca Strada del Cavaliere, che collegava il centro politico con il centro religioso, raggiungerai l'ultima tappa del tour: il Grande ospedale, che sotto l'egida dei Cavalieri forniva assistenza medica di qualità e cure a coloro che ne avevano bisogno, e oggi ospita il museo archeologico.
Dopo aver esplorato con la tua guida le attrattive principali della città medievale e aver scoperto angoli nascosti e vicoli affascinanti, tornerai in prossimità del punto di partenza, dove il tour si concluderà. Durante tutto il tour, sarà cura della guida assicurarsi di fare soste regolari, quando necessario o possibile, in modo che tu abbia l'opportunità e il tempo per scattare foto, riposarti, ecc. I nostri tour sono flessibili: un gruppo può fare soste più frequenti, o prendersi un paio di minuti in più in un certo sito e poi recuperare il ritardo più avanti. This was a highlight of our trip!!! Billy was a great Segway instructor (thorough and patient). His tour was informative but more than that fun. We certainly got our money worth. My favorite part was riding through the note of the walled city of Rhodes.
I can't recommend this tour enough! Our Medieval Segway Tour of Rhodes with the charming Val, was the highlight of our 40 day Mediterranean holiday. I am a bit of a wobbly 5'1 middle-aged woman with sever osteo-arthritis in my right knee, my husband is a fit 71 year old. I chose the Segway tour as I have difficulty walking distances. I approached the tour with some trepidation, but I needn't have. Lovely Val provided an extremely thorough 30min training session that left me very confident and keen to get going! The Segway was much easier to manage than I ever expected.. it was almost as if one thought where one wanted to go and it followed. I felt totally in control and safe at all times. Val spoke English fluently and was a wealth of knowledge about local points of interest. Val's in-depth historical, cultural, social and religious insights enriched our experience of beautiful Rhodes. Val paced our tour perfectly, providing plenty of opportunities to stop and appreciate the magnificent outlooks and snap photographs. We saw so much more via Segway than we could ever have hoped to have seen. We covered everything that Rhodes has to offer, from the ease of our Segways. I recall at one stage noting the longing looks of the hot and bothered looking pedestrian tourists on the long and dusty walk around the fortified city walls. I almost felt guilty effortlessly gliding by. As much of ancient Rhodes was designed for horses and carts with virtually no steps getting around via Segway was easy. The Segway took up no more space than a normal pedestrian and allowed us to go places in a short period of time that I simply wouldn't have been able to had we been on foot. 5 Minutes into our Segway tour everything became intuitive and quite exhilarating. I highly recommend the very professionally run, Medieval Segway Tours company in Rhodes. Val, our gorgeous multi-lingual guide was absolutely marvellous. Touring via Segway with this company is the only way to truely appreciate all beautiful Rhodes has to offer.
These guys are just great. We had never done this this before but after 30 minutes of training we were travelling around the city in a group under full control of our Segway. I would recommend this to everyone as you see so much. We travelled along the moat paths and felt so sorry for the people walking it knowing how far they had to go in the blistering heat, and there was us group of 5 just happily rolling along at a gentle pace. Book in advance for the early morning as they are very busy.
We have never done a Segway tour before and we are so glad we did one in Rhodes! We had about 20-30 minute training with practice riding and then we were off. Our tour guide, Margarete, was very helpful and easy to follow. She asked us right away our preference on hearing historical info, a lot or a little. We said in the middle and she nailed it! Best part was flying by everyone walking through the Moat. The people walking around looked so jealous and one even asked what company we were touring with. It was such a great experience!!
Absolutely loved our tour. It was fun and informative and our guide was really friendly.
We had a wonderful instructor for our first time on the Segway. Then his assistant took us on a 2 hour in depth tour of Rhodes stopping multipal times to explain about the history as well as the sights we were seeing. It was only my wife and I on the tour so we had wonderful personal service. We can't wait to do it again. We may even co e back to Rhodes and stay for a few days next time.
