Join our tour for the hunt of the Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis). Pick-up starts at 8:30 pm and the tour departs at 9 pm from Harpa Concert Hall in downtown Reykjavík. You depart on a 33-55 seat coach and we try to group a maximum of 2 busses together per night at each stop so it won´t be overcrowded.

The tour length varies but is usually between 3 up to 5 hours. It depends on when and if the lights appear and how far we need to drive to find clear skies. As the night may be long and cold there will be hot cocoa to warm you up.

There is no toilet on the bus and there might not be a toilet available during the tour.

Confirmation will be received at time of booking
Dress extremely well, preferably in layers. Bring a hat, gloves and wear thick socks.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon. Sightings can not be guaranteed even if the tour is operated.
We decide after 17:00 every day if conditions are favourable to operate the tour and post on our Facebook page and send an email to all major tour desk and hotel receptions if we are not going ahead with the tour.
If no Northern Lights are seen, we offer passengers to take the trip again for free. If no Northern Lights are seen, we offer passengers to take the trip again for free. If no northern lights are seen for the second or third time we offer passengers a voucher for a free trip that is valid for three years.
If you book a Northern Lights tour, but conditions do not allow us to run the tour during your stay, we refund the ticket in full.
Please note that if the tour is cancelled or if you don't see any lights you must reschedule your tour by contacting the local operator directly - tours are not rescheduled automatically

The tour guide was very knowledgable and explained the reasoning behind the northern lights. We were probably out on the bus for about 4 hours, making two stops. Hot chocolate was included with the tour which was a nice touch. If you do not see the lights on your tour you are allowed to come back for a second night.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. Our tour guide was amazing and made sure we saw the northern lights by traveling to multiple spots until we finally saw them. The hot chocolate was a great addition to the cold night.

Easy pickup and drop off from stop 12 across from our hotel STORM Our rep on the bus was very informative. Didn't see the lights on our first night but not without trying. Very cold but the hot chocolate was really nice. We were too tired the 2nd night so plumbed for the 3rd night. Although the skies were clear and you could see the stars clearly we were told unless there is solar activity then there wouldn't be much chance. However we did spot some activity not all singing and dancing but glad after all the effort we could actually see some. Thrilled as we were giving up hope on this occasion too. I used a phone app and my husband had better settings on his camera.

We only saw a few greenish clouds and a few pale wisps overhead which, we were informed, had been Northern Lights burned out. Our tour operator suggested everyone call to re-schedule this trip for a future night free-of-charge but the next night the weather was too bad and they cancelled it. That was the only chance we had to take advantage of the free excursion promised. No refund was offered or given.

We weren't able to see the lights, but this wasn't due to the guides lack of trying- they were fantastic. We went twice- the second time caught the lights on time lapse camera. The hot chocloate and doughnuts were a real treat on cold nights!

finally got to see the light, after not seeing the the year before...Totally amazing sight
