Inaugurato nel 1977 e che prende il nome del presidente francese Georges Pompidou, il Centro Pompidou è uno dei musei d'arte moderna e contemporanea più grandi d'Europa. La collezione del museo contiene più di 100.000 opere di oltre 6500 artisti. Contiene inoltre un'enorme biblioteca e un centro di ricerca, oltre a creazioni contemporanee come arti plastiche, libri, musica e cinema. Numerose gallerie offrono mostre studiate per i bambini e gli adolescenti, il che lo rende una destinazione perfetta per tutta la famiglia.

Situato accanto al fiume Senna a Beaubourg, il 4° "arrondissement", il Centro Pompidou è vicino ad altre attrazioni principali, tra cui la cattedrale di Notre-Dame, il Municipio e Place des Vosges. Nella grande piazza e nelle strade pedonali all'esterno del museo, spesso è possibile vedere un vivace spettacolo di strada con una varietà di musicisti, giocolieri e altri artisti di strada, insieme a grandi opere d'arte e sculture pubbliche.

We took escalators to top floor and ate at restaurant. Food was good and our server Jazmina was excellent. Our meal was more enjoyable by having such a hard working and delightful young lady attending our table. We then visited the museum on fifth and fourth floors. Nice selection of modern art. I was hoping for more but good to admire.

Absolutely terrible - I'm so sorry to say. I love modern art, I admire and understand the architecture so was really excited to visit. We couldn't actually find any exhibits. Everyone was heading to top floor so went there because we couldn't see any other section that looked open and saw a really ordinary exhibition of optical illusions that were very unspecial. My husband suddenly said "get me out of here" and we did, it was so dire. On the way out I tried to go via something, anything, interesting but there was nothing to see. We did see the inside of two lifts - one was broken - and the escalators several times. Oh and we also saw the section aimed at children, which was closed. Asda is more interesting.

The Pomidou Centre is worth a visit. There were problems with the tickets though as nombar code could be printed and the staff were extremely unhelpful and were quite dismissive that we had bocked the tickets through a 3rd party. They were clearly the operator/supplier and it took a lot of persistence to get them to let us in.

If you like modern art,it might be worth it. The best I can say is that the views from the top floor were great. It only took us 30 min to figure out it was a waste of our time.

Was disappointed with this attraction. It was less than I expected. The only part that I enjoyed was riding the escalators to the top floor. The The Priority Access feature was not necessary the day and time that I went.
