Tour di mezza giornata per piccoli gruppi ad Aix-en-Provence e Cassis da Marsiglia

Unfortunately our cruise ship was unable to dock because of high winds. We were really disappointed to miss the tour. Luckily one of our phones worked in Europe and we were able to contact the local tour company and explain what was happening. They couldn't have been nicer and gave the go-ahead to refund our money. When we got home we had to phone Viator to complete this. We thought this was very good customer service from both the local company and Viator. We will of course, continue to use Viator.

We scheduled this small group tour well in advance of our cruise from Barcelona. However, the cruise line changed their arrival schedule while we were on our way to Marseille. We were able to connect with the tour contact and they were amazing! Not only did they rearrange the tour schedule to start later, they also picked us up at the cruise terminal. Our guide, Alexandre Reynders, met us in front of the building and he took us on a fantastic tour in a clean, comfortable and late model Mercedes van. It turned out that my wife and I were the only participants that day which allowed for a more in-depth discussion and visit. We went to Aix-en-Provence, a fabulous town about 45 minutes away. The town was quite nice with great stores, street vendors and restaurants. We then went to the hills overlooking Cassis and had spectacular views off the cliffs. We then had about an hour to stroll around Cassis, have lunch, and enjoy the harbor view. From there, we went back to Marseille and had a stop at the Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica, which is a beautiful Catholic church that overlooks all of Marseille. The view is fantastic. Our guide, Alex, was courteous, informative and quite knowledgeable. We truly enjoyed our day together and highly recommend the tour.

Had an amazing day with our guide Alex. The company was very accommodating, and were happy to take just the two of us since we were only in town for one day. We went to the markets in Aix, where we sampled delicacies in the markets, and the stores before going to the cathedral and eventually onto Cassis. We had about 90 minutes free time alone in Cassis, so went to a pub and had an amazing lunch. After meeting Alex again, he took us to the top of the city Point Pin which has the best views in France- apparently their version of the Amalfi coast! For someone who wants to experience Provence in comfort and with a tour guide that is down to earth, understanding and allows you to stop and shop in the market etc. this is the tour to do. Alex, merci beaucoup!

This was a fabulous tour! We only wish we had more free time in lovely Aix-en-Provence to explore the shops before heading to Cassis. Lucy was a delightful guide in Aix, and Emma who took us to Cassis was more accommodating than we could ask for! She altered her schedule to complete our tour after the desired cruise time was full and we had to do a slightly later one. Highly recommend!
