Si andrà a piedi con la guida fino a Piazza del Duomo e dopo aver superato la moltitudine di musicisti di strada, artisti e turisti che si radunano in questa eclettica piazza, ci si dirigerà direttamente all'interno del Duomo di Firenze con il proprio biglietto d'ingresso saltafila.
Nelle ore di punta, le code d'ingresso possono superare le due ore, pertanto prenotando in anticipo i biglietti d'ingresso prioritario si sarà sicuri di trascorrere il proprio tempo all'interno di questo incredibile edificio piuttosto che in coda!
Dopo aver spiegato la storia della cupola rinascimentale, la guida farà strada su per l'impressionante scala di 463 scalini. Questa camminata di 45 minuti su per gli scalini non è per i deboli di cuore! Sarà meglio essere pronti per una ripida e stretta salita che, per quanto faticosa, vale certamente la pena. Salendo attraverso la struttura "a cipolla" o a doppio guscio della cupola, si passerà accanto ad affreschi realizzati a prestigiosi artisti rinascimentali come Vasari e Zuccari.
Una volta in cima, goditi lo spettacolo impareggiabile di Firenze e delle colline toscane. Potrai passeggiare intorno alla balconata della cupola per scattare delle fotografie e ammirare i vari punti di interesse, mentre la guida racconterà la storia di Filippo Brunelleschi, il talentuoso architetto rinascimentale che ha dato vita alla cupola.
Dopo aver trascorso circa 30 minuti in cima, si comincerà cautamente la discesa delle scale. In fondo potrai rilassarti prima di dirigerti all'interno del battistero per la visita con la guida. La visita guidata termina all'interno del museo.

What a beautiful view from the top! Vanessa was a great tour guide, balancing a great mixture of insights into the history of the Duomo with some time for exploring. Highly recommend!

Firstly, I wouldn’t recommend this tour if you’re not prepared to do some serious step work. This wasn’t an issue for me as I love a good bit of exercise! Our tour guide was fantastic, initially showing us some key historical places on our walk to the museum behind the Cathedral. She showed us the Dante’s house, the workshop where they replicate the statues, the history was explained to us in good detail. We then made our way to the museum where we were shown the original Baptistry doors and told about the different stories depicted on them. After this we made our way into the Cathedral which was magnificent. Then we began our climb up the duomo, it was a lot of walking and a little claustrophobic but our tour guide kept us going and it was well worth the steps. When we arrived at the top, the amazing 360 degree view of Florence was beautiful! Our guide even told us about all of the other historic places that you could see and how to visit them. Also, have us recommendations for food places in the area. Our last stop on the tour was inside the Baptistry which was incredible. Loved how friendly and accommodating our guide was, very chatty and happy to answer any questions we had!

Vanessa was our tour guide from Fat Tire abd she was great. Vanessa was knowledgeable and engaging. She made the tour memorable despite the heat. We visited the Duomo, museum and the climb to the top. What a great experience. Thanks Vanessa.

This tour was really good. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was up for the climb to the top of the Duomo. The climb didn't take that long, and was definitely worth it when you got to the top and saw the whole city of Florence from that height.

This was a great tour. Loved being able to see the city from that view and see the painting of the cupola up close. Caterina was fun and so knowledgeable. We walked right into the chapel and discussed the chapel (could have had a little more information about all the parts of that) and then walked up to the top where she pointed out all the sites of Florence. Bring water, it is a long, hot hike in the summer.

Great way to see the Duomo without all the lines. The group was a bit large for my liking. We had to wear the headphones so we could hear the guide. They weren't the best and many times you could not hear what she was talking about. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable.

I bought the ticket without really reading the description, and as it occurred it was a guided tour of the cathedral. I have to say, it was the best surprise! Our guide knew all the secrets of the cathedral. He took us to a balcony that is only accessible with the group, which was the most beautiful place. The Dome Climb is not for the weak of heart, because you will be in a narrow staircase, so very high above the ground. The tour is about 3 hours total.

This was the best of the five tours I booked through Viator! Our guide Christina was very knowledeable about the Duomo and the surrounding area. She was good at making sure that all members of the tour were accounted for. We were not able to complete the entire climb to the Dome, but she gave us excellent instructions on where to meet her to complete the tour. Unfortunately, it started raining, so we didn't go back to complete it-but that wasn't the tour operator's fault. I would highly recommend this tour!
