Il tour per piccoli gruppi parte da un punto nella zona centrale di Edimburgo la mattina presto, per evitare il traffico, e si dirige a ovest della città. Dopo una sosta a Glasgow per prelevare altri passeggeri, raggiungerai la prima tappa della gita, la cittadina di Luss, in un'area protetta vicino al Loch Lomond, il più grande lago d'acqua dolce in Gran Bretagna. Approfitta per rilassarti e goderti il paesaggio prima di proseguire il tour nel cuore delle Highlands.
Passerai accanto alle splendide rovine del Castello Kilchurn, sulle rive del Loch Awe, e ascolta le storie del clan Campbell che un tempo rivendicò la terra come roccaforte. Il Loch Awe segue anche il Pass of Brander, dove un tempo Roberto I Bruce (eroico re di Scozia) combatté varie e sanguinose battaglie.
Raggiungendo la città costiera vittoriana di Oban nel primo pomeriggio, potrai cogliere l'occasione per assaggiare il pesce freschissimo della "capitale scozzese del pesce"! Fai una passeggiata digestiva fino alla Torre di McCaig, il magnifico edificio decorativo in granito che domina il panorama della città dal 1895. Non farti scoraggiare dalla lunga salita! Ti ricompenseranno le viste spettacolari sul mare fino all'Isola di Mull.
Il percorso di ritorno a Edimburgo prevede una tappa a Inverarary, pittoresca cittadina situata lungo le rive del Loch Fyne, caratterizzata dalle graziose case dipinte di bianco. Approfitta del tempo libero a tua disposizione per provare alcuni dolci tipici fatti in casa prima di rientrare a Edimburgo, passando per la campagna scozzese immersa nel mito e nella leggenda.

Overall the trip was ok, only thing is that I just wished there was a little more time in Oban. An 1 1/2 is just not enough to do the Oban distillery and see other attractions in the town.

Our driver Norman needed to talk loader even after being told 3 times by different people during our trip. Also he needed more personality. Could do with making some 10minute stops for photos as it is a long trip. Other then that the trip was nice.

A nice day, despite the rain. The stops were nice, but more time needs to be spent in Oban. Having a little over an hour to have lunch and take in the sights was definitely not doable. Traffic was a little heavy going through the preserve but that should be taken into account by the operator. We were able to get up to McCaigs Tower and a quick drink in the Oban Distillery before we had to rush to catch the bus.

The trip included a lot of interesting stops, especially in Inveraray. The highlight of the trip was definitely Oban. There were a lot of great seafood options available and the views from McCaig's Tower were amazing!

A day being driven down the interstate to Oban, then an hour for lunch and back on the bus and down the interstate. There were a few short stops for scenery views, but not many and not great views. You also stop at a castle for about 20 minutes which was probably the best part, but not good enough to justify this trip.

The length of the trip was just right. Our guide was accomodating and knowledgable. He greeted us warmly as we joined the group. It was a small group tour and it felt cozy. We weren't rushed but there were times when the driver guide was late to show up. At Oban, we had a short lunch break. It would be appreciated if he had shown us where the seafood place that visitors would usually go. I managed to discover that place after i had my lunch. Thank god i found it. Thats the reason why i jpined the trip! To satisfy my craving for some seafood!! The weather then was rainy and mostly wet. We went to the the castle where Downtown Abbey was filmed and the group split up. As i was a solo traveller, at times, i felt as though i had been left behind. I panicked a little. I had to walk quite a distance to the pick up point which the driver had shown us earlier, past a very quiet path, with no other visitors and cars in sight. The driver just left us on our own, which was ok if it wasnt raining. Otherwise, the drive to the west highlands was extremely breath-taking. There were many tree tunnels, just like the ones illustrated in the fairy tales. We did see the hairy coos, shaun the sheep and probably many other inspired cartoon characters thats familliar to some of us. Recoomended to go if thats the only time you have in the highlands.
