The countryside of Ireland is so beautiful to see and the whole tour is well done. John was amazing and made sure the entire group had fun together. Seeing how crystal is made and the detailing was so awesome.

The train ride was just beautiful through the rolling hills and farms . There were vibrant green fields of every shade. There were sheep, cows, horses and castles. The Kilkenny stop was magical. A smaller city than Dublin, had all the charm of what we anticipated an Ireland town. Waterford was also beautiful. The Waterford factory itself was a great experience. Our tour Guide, Paddy, was informative about all aspects of the tour and would point out historical items even on the train. After Waterford the train took a different route back to Dublin though the smaller towns . The train tour was well worth the money. Please be aware that there is still quite a bit of walking.

This was the first tour we took with Rail Tours. Unfortunately we did not know that other tours were leaving from the same location in Dublin at approximately the same time. So, when the announcement was made to follow the yellow jackets and get on the train, we did. Our ticket was stamped and we boarded it. We waited about 10mins until the train started to move. It was at that time that a Rail Tours person checked our tickets and informed us we were on the train to Cork and not Waterford. We know it was our fault for not checking with them as we boarded the train, but it was our first tour. They should always check everyone's ticket before they board the trains. They should also tell everyone when you check in that other tours are there as well. On the positive side, David from Rail Tours was extremely helpful and made sure we had an enjoyable day to Cork, the Blarney Castle, and Cobh. The tour we took was very good. And he was wonderful.

I really enjoyed this trip. Liam was our guide and he was great. Liam took time to show us maps and go over all the details, he walked us through a lovely church and introduced us to the local butcher as we walked into Kilkenny. The short train ride around town was really fun and a great way to see the town without walking. We did not tour the inside of the castle, there wasn't enough time, I think I would have enjoyed that if we had time but it would have made the day probably too long. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Waterford Crystal tour, it is just amazing to see the craftsmanship involved in producing their crystal. I have such a greater appreciation of their crystal products. The town of Waterford was lovely and we had time to walk around with Liam and have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. It was a very long day by the time we got back to Dublin but it was very relaxing to go by train and overall very enjoyable. The guided tour takes all the guesswork out of planing and figuring out the trains on your own, plus Liam is full of knowledge and made the trip much better than it would have been on our own.

This was a great tour with an added variety with it being based off travel on a rail line. Our guide was Paddy, and he did a great job providing us an overview of the trip at the initial start of the trip and giving us details throughout the trip. We thoroughly enjoyed having the different pace on the rail vs the bus tours that we had done up to that point. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone!
