Katherine Gorge River Cruise was lovely! We appreciated that there was a shuttle bus that picked us up from the caravan park and drove us to the tour bus, but we were disappointed that the this service wasn’t available to do the same on our return. We had to find our own way back to the caravan park via a taxi. After a long day we would have preferred to have been dropped off by the tour bus. Lots of people use caravan parks for their accommodation and we think there should be the option to be picked up and dropped off as part of the whole tour package. Apart from that glitch, the day tour was fabulous. Thank you
Excellent tour. Very long day though and we were only able to do half the Gorge due to the high water levels.
This tour was amazing!
My wife and I used the reviews section to make our choice and were not disappointed. As previous travellers stated it was indeed a very long day. Our driver Micheal was a very obliging driver, guide and carer with a good sense of humour. We were treated to greenery due to recent rainfalls which he stated was highly unusual for this time of year. When we arrived at Katherine Gorge for our boat trip were not expecting to see so many bats. The only negative for any older travellers who do not or are not able to walk so far is the distance between the two boat trips. Stage 1 travels down the river and there is a considerable walk to stage 2 of the river journey which is the the actual destination. The walk is definintely worth the effort. Water is available but the need to carry and drink water was repeatedly stressed. Very enjoyable and satisfying trip and well worth the money.
A very long day but most enjoyable. Comfortable air condit coach. Cruise on gorge beautiful even though it was 40 degrees. You actually go on a boat get off and short walk to another boat. Scenery lovely. On way back stopped at Emerald springs for dinner. Yummo..i had Barramundi burger.. beautifully cooked. Owner of place a very happy and funny man. Back to Darwin about 9pm. Well worth the trip.
