Navigherai per circa un'ora attraverso le meravigliose acque cristalline del Mar dei Caraibi fino a raggiungere la barriera corallina all'isola di Contoy, delicatamente protetta da Semarnat, responsabile della protezione e della salvaguardia delle meraviglie di Contoy. Una volta terminato il viaggio, si arriva alI'isola di Contoy dove i biologi marini ti insegneranno e ti delizieranno con una magnifica spiegazione della flora e della fauna che popola questo luogo, noto anche come Isola degli uccelli.
Goditi un delizioso pesce alla griglia per il pranzo, appena pescato da uno dei pescatori dell'isola più vicina. Mentre esplori l'isola e nuoti nelle sue acque incontaminate, capirai cosa significherebbe di trascorrere il tempo nel paradiso di un'isola deserta, lontano dalla terraferma dove tu sei parte della natura.
Le mante nuoteranno proprio al tuo fianco lungo la spiaggia nella speranza di ricevere del cibo. We started the day being picked up in an air-conditioned van and delivered to the port. There was a small selection of free breakfast items there, such as fruit, croissants, and juice. Be aware that you will have to pay 10 cash per person or the equivalent in pesos at the port that is not included in your tour package price. After we boarded the boat and got under way, the crew did introductions and we all signed a log so that we could visit Isla Contoy. They did announcements in English, Spanish, French, and Italian. We were given snorkeling instructions as we cruised out to the reef. Only strong swimmers were allowed to swim out to the reef because it is quite a distance and the currents are strong. However, for the rest of us we were able to swim and snorkel around the boat and see plenty of fish. Everyone was required to wear a life jacket around their waist. Back on the boat, we took the boat trip to Isla Contoy which I believe was about 45 minutes. The crew offered us lots of alcoholic beverages as well as water and soda. If you like to drink, there was a lot of alcohol available throughout the trip. Isla Contoy was unbelievably gorgeous and they limit the number of people allowed on the island. There were only about 50 of us there. We had about an hour and a half to swim or explore the island before lunch. I brought my own mask and snorkel with me and saw several barracuda and a sting ray. The water was so clear you could also see the fish from shore or on the pier. Lunch was fantastic and included fish, chicken, and yummy sides. It was one of our favorite meals on vacation. After lunch, you could either take a guided tour or return to the beach to swim. There were also plenty of palm trees if you preferred a nap in the shade. The guide, Alexis, was very knowledgeable about the island and the wildlife there. He was able to answer all of our questions and kept the tour interesting. I think we were on the island for about 4 hours. We chose to change into regular clothes before we left. There is no water on the island, but the crew washed our feet off as we got back on the boat. We then took another 45 minute boat ride to the island of Isla Mujeres. I wasn't too excited about that, but if you are looking for a safe place to shop other given the travel warnings, then this is your opportunity. We spent an hour there, which gave us time to walk around a bit and get some ice cream. The boat trip back to Cancun was a great time as the crew dressed in costumes and danced to music the whole way. They were amazing and we decided to tip them 10 from each of us because they worked so hard. I would definitely recommend this tour!
