Passeggerete per il quartiere olandese, un complesso di edifici in mattoni rossi unico nel suo genere in Europa. Il famigerato "Re soldato" Federico Guglielmo I, (conosciuto il suo reggimento di militari più alti della media), fece costruire queste abitazioni a metà del XVIII secolo per poter ospitare una nuova comunità di artigiani olandese a Potsdam.
Ammirerete l'incredibile palazzo Sanssouci, residenza preferita di Federico il Grande, che si trova tra splendidi parchi con templi e chiese.
Dopo aver attraversato il ponte di Glienicke, il "Ponte delle spie", visiterete Cecilienhof, la residenza feudale dell'ultimo principe erede alla corona di Germania, che ospitò la Conferenza di Potsdam del 1945. Ascolterete una descrizione delle discussioni tra Churchill, Truman e Stalin, che indirizzarono la Guerra Fredda per i seguenti cinquant'anni.

This is an outstanding tour. Our tour guide was amazing! He had many issues to deal with in our group, some of the people were elderly and couldn't keep up so he offered them an alternative way to meet up with us that was easier and quicker. This is a long walking tour, so be sure you want to walk! It is very informative and you see a lot of things. We enjoyed it immensely. I think our tour time total was 11 hours, so make sure you understand that going in. We are happy we took it. Cal and Kathy

We took the 6 hour Potsdam tour with a great Irish guide who showed us the many sights of Potsdam and ending the last hour at Sansousi Palace. I would encourage everyone to stay at the Sanssouci Palace and take an audio guided tour which takes about an hour. The Palace tour is not included in the Potsdam Tour and reservations must be made in advance to tour the interior of the Palace. The Palace and grounds are everything you imagined in a King's home and grounds. It's easy to find your way back to Berlin by yourself but you will need a ABC ticket for the train. Potsdam was the highlight of our Berlin adventure.

Maria was a superb tour guide - extremely knowledgeable about Potsdam and German history, witty, and patient with an age-diverse clientele. This is a six-hour excursion, so wear comfortable shows, bring water, and snacks there is a half-hour lunch break. And take pictures!

Our guide was a wealth of information about the town of Potsdam, different eras of history, German history, in general which I knew little about, as well as navigating on various public transportation which would have been hard for me to fully figure out myself. He had a binder with helpful photos and documents to support his interesting narrative. I'm very happy to have done this trip.
