Get an authentic sense of Chinese culture on this private tour of Beijing. After your private guide picks you up from your Beijing hotel, drive to the Drum Tower and hop into a traditional rickshaw and go for a ride through Beijing’s hutongs. These narrow alleyways lined by courtyard residences will give you an insider’s look into the lives of local families. Then, ascend the Drum Tower to see the large collection of drums from all over China and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the ancient city from the top. You may even catch an impressive 20-minute drum performance inside!

Next, visit the home of a local family living in a nearby hutong. Here, learn how to make authentic Chinese dumplings as you and your English-speaking guide chat with the family and hear about their lifestyle. After eating your homemade delicacies for lunch, the family will teach you traditional Chinese activities like calligraphy and paper cutting, giving you a greater understanding of traditional Chinese art.This is also a great opportunity for you to walk in the local Beijinger's life, you can have a nice talk with the local family about all the topics which you are interested in.

After an enriching, authentic Beijing experience, your guide will walk you back to the Drum Tower to conclude your tour. Your tour guide will help you to get a taxi back to your hotel at your own expense.

Enjoy the tour very much and was a highlight of my stay in Beijing. Tour guide was fantastic! Meet me on time at my hotel, spoke very good English, professional and informative on the area. Tour guide had patience while we climbed the Drum Tower stairs and for this tourist taking lots of photos. Loved the visit to a home with doing Chinese crafts and enjoying lunch. Would highly recommend this tour in Beijing!

We enjoyed the Hutoon Rickshaw ride and dumpling tour in Beijing. We appreciated the ability to confirm the tour by e-mail and the immediate response that our confirmation was received. Our tour guide, Annie, contacted us the night before to confirm the time and place to meet. The tour was wonderful and Annie helped a lot by her knowledge and lively conversation about the area. We appreciated the lunch. In addiiton, Annie was very helpful in being aware of my wife's dietary and walking problems and we really appreciate it. We wish to advise that we all really enjoyed our tour today with your representative Emma. Emma was good at understanding and speaking English and we were able to ask her a lot of questions about china history which she knew well. She is very polite and caring and ensured our safety all the time. The richshaw driver was also so very kind. The meal in the family home was beautiful and how special it was to be welcomed by the family. We highly recommend the tour to any western travellers thoroughly enjoyable.
