Dopo esserti immerso nell’ambiente elettrizzante, torna in direzione di Bangkok, fermandoti lungo il tragitto a una fabbrica di intaglio del legno.

Dopo pranzo, visita la casa dei re del Siam della dinastia Chakri nel cuore di Bangkok. Originariamente costruito da Re Rama I, e usato come residenza reale fino al 1946, oggi il palazzo è utilizzato per le visite di ospiti del regno, reali o speciali. Accanto al Grande palazzo reale ammira il Tempio del Buddha di smeraldo (Wat Phra Keo), il più conosciuto tra i templi reali e il tempio più importante di tutta la Thailandia. È utilizzata per numerose cerimonie religiose a cui partecipa il re, specialmente all'inizio delle 3 stagioni, quando il re cambia personalmente le vesti elaborate della statua di Buddha, scolpita in un unico pezzo di diaspro verde smeraldo.

Not much added value except transportation. The tour guide could not provide much more history or cultural knowledge that we can get by basic google research. There's only one route to walk about the floating market. Tour excludes boat ride in the actual floating market. Pros: private, hotel pick up drop off Neutral: tour guide's English Cons: Knowledge of religion is sub-par. Itinerary: Morning: Coconut sugar and by-product factory - Elephant ride we skipped this due to animal cruelty - woodwork shop - boat ride to the floating market - Floating market on foot Lunch buffet at a hotel package excludes drinks Afternoon: Grand palace and Wat Phra

This was a fun and interesting day trip. They were very accommodating of our busy schedules as well as pick up and drop off places. The colorful floating market was wonderful and the Palace was also very interesting. Our tour guide was a delightful young woman who spoke English quite well. She is an enthusiastic Buddhist. Be aware that at the temple of the jade buddha, not all visitors are allowed in all areas specifically if you're not Thai and probably Buddhist but the sign specifically said Thai. I also loved the first stop: the coconut factory so very interesting. HOWEVER, I would not recommend buying many of the wares at the coconut stop since you will find them for a better price in the Floating Market. We were very happy paying what we paid and felt it was well worth it. We tipped our guide and the driver, too, who was absolutely delighted to receive something.

Thanks to the Guide - we enjoyed this tour - informative-full of fun - morning part of the tour - worthy 2.5hr drive each way. The afternoon part of the tour provided us with the inside knowledge of the basis of Buddhism - although we expected more from the visit to Emerald Buddha Shrine - and expectations of closer participation in mourning of the deceased King.

What a great experience. Ms. Cat was a great tour guide. We chose to walk around the market instead of taking another boat around the market waterways because when we looked at the environment, many boats were sitting still for long periods due to incredible crowds. The Grand Palace was a little limited since King Rama IX remains laying in state so areas were restricted, but we still felt like we got to see and learn a lot. As with all the temples we saw on this trip, Wat Phra Kheo, was beautiful.
